Linda B. Rosenthal

Linda B. Rosenthal advocates for gender equity policies that make tampons and other period products - a natural human need - accessible for all.

Manhattan Assembly Member Linda B. Rosenthal has established herself as a leading advocate on human rights and gender equity issues in New York City. In her tenure, Linda has passed more than 75 laws that have helped to improve the lives of all New York State residents, including a law to ban the “tampon tax,” eliminating the tax on all feminine hygiene products statewide. As Chair of the Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, Linda helped secure a historic budget increase for the state agency tasked with addressing the statewide opioid epidemic. She has advocated successfully for substantial funding increases to provide more rape crisis resources and support the growing runaway and homeless youth community. She is also a member of the Committees on Agriculture; Education; Health; Housing; and Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development.
