Shirley Bergin is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer of TEDMED. She leads all aspects of the TEDMED organization, from co-chairing the Editorial Advisory Board to supporting the curation of TEDMED’s annual stage program and start-up showcase (aka “The Hive”) to building long-term strategic relationships with industry and academic leaders, the venture community and startup organizations—and, when it comes to TEDMED’s annual event she serves as its Executive Producer. Shirley is fiercely passionate about putting TEDMED’s brand, platform, and community to work in shaping a healthier world. She is also an accomplished business leader with experience working with global brands including Johnson and Johnson, GE, Unilever, Kraft and Nestle and leading digital enterprises such as Priceline.com, InterActiveCorp, and AOL.com. Shirley has developed and executed innovative business and marketing strategies across a variety of verticals for start-ups and established firms alike, successfully reinventing and introducing brands and building large online communities.
