About Rosie King

When she was nine years old, doctors confirmed Rosie King’s self-diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome. With two younger siblings severely affected by autism, Rosie has always had a burning desire to help make the world a more tolerant place for people with autism ever since she was a young girl. She has won an Emmy kid's award among other recognitions and is well on her way to being a global player for autism advocacy.

Rosie King diagnosed herself with Asperger’s Syndrome at age nine and has become a spokesperson for autism in the UK, including hosting an Emmy award-winning BBC documentary on the subject. In her TEDMED 2014 talk, she challenges stereotypes of people with autism and contextualizes the issue by asking, “Why be normal?”
