About This Idea

Founded in 2014 by three Columbia University undergraduates seeking to make a difference during the Ebola epidemic, Kinnos develops tools to protect our healthcare workers and patients. Their first product, Highlight, greatly enhances infectious disease decontamination and is used by the Fire Department of New York, was a winner of the USAID Fighting Ebola Grand Challenge, and has been field-tested by healthcare workers in Liberia and Guinea. Highlight has been featured in The New Yorker, Wall Street Journal and Scientific American, and was a winner of the Columbia Venture Competition, Collegiate Inventors Competition, and Lemelson-MIT Student Prize. Kinnos was recently named to the 2016 Forbes 30 Under 30 in Healthcare.
